I like George, he is well educated and has got the finances back on track.

And quite frankly consider the alternative.....MR Balls,it doesn't bare thinking about

Quite possibly the worst Chancellor in living memory. Borrowing more money than imaginable, lost our AAA rating and hides it all behind growth figures that are pitiful.

Someone else who doesn't want to be anywhere the seat of power/responsibility after the next election?

Are you referring to the economy that has emerged from the world wide recession stronger and better than any other European country?

One of the best chancellors we've had. He's like an accountant in a company. He doesn't make policy so much as he advises the rest of the directors how to manage the money.

Some might say otherwise but they are politically motivated. Just think where we'd be under Ed Ballsup....

Is he still trying to cover-up the photo of him with the black prostitute Natalie Rowe with lines of coke on the table?
What a coincidence her book was withdrawn just prior to it being published

I've met Natalie Rowe. Her son went to the same kindergarten as my sons. He's a black ginger.

Looks like we caught the Chancellor, who snuffed out our nascent recovery in 2010 [ to no good effect overall ], on a good day.

What was the message they found at the treasury after the last lot left, something like - 'the money's all gone ha ha !'

The alternative to Osborne doesn't bear thinking about.

Sleepless nights, hair loss, mad paranoia like bicycle locks on his office fridge to protect his milk - clearly Gideon the Child cCatcher is losing it big time

.. something tells me, with 6 months to the next election, that the economy isn't exactly in the rosy state he will claim it is.

Given that most economies in the EU are shot to fuck anyway, that's not exactly a claim supporting greatness.

Re: George Osborne out of his head at PMQs
Lots of nasty personal stuff on this thread. How typical of the Lefties.

Frankly I don't care if Osborne is on drugs. Why would that be any of my business? I'm a libertarian. I think people should be free to abuse their own bodies if they want to.

The only thing that matters is whether or not he is any good at his job. The answer is: no he isn't.

And no, it doesn't make any difference that he is better than Balls. A person randomly chosen from the phone book would be better than Balls. It's not a useful reference point.

The economy is not 'on the right track', as the government keeps telling us. Osborne promised to balance the books (ie balance expenditure with revenue) within the life of the parliament. Instead he has picked up where Labour left off and carried on spending like a drunken sailor.

As a result the country is now effectively bankrupt. The only thing preventing all the hospitals and schools from closing is that the Bank of England is printing money to pay the bills. That is the road to ruin.

Osborne does not have the cojones to take an axe to public spending. It needs to be cut by at least £100bn. Instead it hasn't been cut at all - it has gone up every year under Osborne. He won't make cuts because he is afraid of the Left getting shouty and marching down Oxford Street with placards, which frankly they will do anyway. The Lefties like marching with placards.

A good Chancellor would have made tough choices, like cancelling the London 2012 Olympics, introducing a pay as you go system into the NHS and forcing public sector workers to fund their own pensions.

He hasn't made any effort - none at all. Five years after the catastrophe of the Brown years we are no better off.

Maybe he needs to take more drugs and give himself some Dutch courage to stand up and do his job properly.

Thanks for demonstrating there is a loony right as well as a loony left.
